I could have done a better job removing dust, but otherwise they are very similar. I'm uploading a shot professionally edited and scanned by a film lab, and my own edited shot scanned on this scanner. Colors don't come out particularly vivid, but images 'straight out of the camera' usually need to be edited anyway. minimum CPU requirements, Pentium 450MHz PowerPC G3 model, Perfection V500 number of one-touch buttons, 4 operating system compatibility, Windows 2000. It automatically crops images, and though I haven't found out how to turn this off, I'm pretty happy with the job it does. At a decent resolution and using digital ICE (which doubles scan times) it took about 15 minutes to scan around 8 frames.
It's not particularly fast, but it's not too slow either. I use it on an older version of MacOS and the only issue is I have to jiggle the mouse between frames or it stops scanning. The software impressed me, there's no bloat and even though this scanner came out in 2007 there's a version for Windows 11 and MacOS 10.15.
